I've Got a Bad Feeling About This...

Most people will break down the X's and O's to make a prediction about the outcome of a game. They will take many factors into consideration. Which team has the better defense? Which team has the hot player? Which team has the power play that is clicking? Etc, etc.

Saturday the Blue Jackets face the Los Angeles Kings at Nationwide. I have a prediction for Saturday's game and it's not based on any of the factors listed above. My fellow Jackets fans are not going to like it.

I have a bad feeling that the Jackets will be on the losing end come Saturday night. What do I base this on? Most a gut feeling. But also consider these factors...

1. The Kings have lost two in a row on the road (maybe more, I haven't checked). They are on a road trip and are heading into Nationwide thirsty for a win. They are due.

2. The Blue Jackets are riding a high right now. Best start ever in franchise history. They are due for a loss.

3. The Jackets will have had several days off and might be rusty. Many think that several days off are good to rest players. Sure, but sometimes it can also take them out of the groove they are in.

4. I will be attending the game. It may be my only game of the year. Let's just say that I'm never one to be brimming with good luck.

5. Injuries. The Jackets defense has been hit hard with injuries. Top two guys are out. Overall I think the Jackets will be fine but this may be the first game of an adjustment period.

Now let me clarify...I hope I'm wrong. I really do. I'd love nothing more than to see the Jackets win, especially since I will be making a rare appearance at Nationwide. Let's just say I won't be surprised if I walk out of there and the Jackets' record is at 4-2.
